Project Coordinator
Beautification and Preservation of the Historic Nehalem American Legion Cemetery
Nehalem, Oregon
A project of the Nehalem Valley Historical Society in partnership with the City of Nehalem
Our small community on the Oregon Coast is fortunate to have the support of the historical society to help local government in their endeavor to maintain an historic and active cemetery. The task is large when preserving the monuments, records, community stories and history of the site. Community volunteers are the key to this project’s success as well as support from local and regional foundation funding. The site continues to serve the community as an active cemetery and is an important key to telling the stories of the area’s residents from the late 1800’s.
